Frequently Asked Questions

In this guide:

What is a Sales Representative?

A Shopify customer flagged in B2B Plus to sell on the store's behalf, who logs in on the Online Store and works with assigned B2B buyers. See Overview — What are Sales Representatives?.

Can I use an existing Shopify customer as a Sales Representative?

Yes — choose Select existing customer in the Add sales representative dialog and search for them.

What happens when I invite a new Sales Representative?

B2B Plus creates a new Shopify customer record for them and flags it as a rep in one step; if you sent an invite email, they must accept it before logging in.

Does inviting a Sales Representative create a Shopify customer?

Yes — the invite path always creates the underlying Shopify customer record as part of adding the rep.

Can I change the assigned company or location later?

Yes — open the rep's Assignments page at any time to add or remove Customer, Company, or Location assignments.

Can I edit the Sales Representative code after creation?

Yes — use Edit code from the list or the rep's detail page at any time, subject to the uniqueness and format rules.

Can I deactivate a Sales Representative without deleting them?

Yes — set their status to Inactive from the list or detail page; their history and assignments stay intact and they can be reactivated later.

Can I import multiple Sales Representatives at once?

Yes — use Import on the list page with a CSV following the supported format, including assignment columns.

What happens when a Sales Representative is inactive?

They are hidden from storefront rep experiences — they cannot log in and use rep features — until you set them Active again.
