Best Practices
Follow these recommendations to keep order splitting, fulfillment, and reporting accurate and easier to manage at scale.
In this guide:
Managing Orders
- Review delivery windows before placing orders, so ship-date expectations and order splitting behave as intended.
- Verify warehouse assignments for accurate fulfillment, especially on multi-location stores.
- Use filters to efficiently locate orders — quick tabs and saved views are faster than scrolling the full list. See Filtering Orders and Viewing Orders — Saved Views.
- Export order reports for reconciliation and analysis on a regular cadence rather than only when something looks wrong. See Exporting Orders.
Order Processing
- Monitor split orders to ensure all shipments are fulfilled — a parent order can look "done" while a later shipment is still outstanding.
- Keep delivery windows up to date on inventory records, since stale Available From/To dates lead to incorrect splitting and fulfillment timing.
- Regularly sync orders with Shopify to maintain consistency between the Shopify order and its B2B Plus view. See Shopify data sync.
