Catalog Types
Catalog type tells the system how ordering and inventory should work for a line sheet's products. Your store's UI may label these ATS, Future, Booking, and All; this module uses the equivalent Immediate / Future / Prebook / All terms consistently with the Inventory module.
In this guide:
Immediate
Overview: for products available to ship now, drawing on available-to-sell inventory.
Product Availability: sellable quantity is capped to what Inventory currently shows as Immediate/ATS stock. See Immediate/ATS Inventory.
Use Cases: core in-stock catalogs — the everyday assortment a buyer can order and expect to receive without delay.
Future
Overview: for pre-orders or products shipping on a known future delivery date.
Product Availability: tied to Future inventory records and their Available From/To dates. See Future Inventory.
Use Cases: seasonal or upcoming collections where buyers order ahead of a confirmed ship window.
Prebook
Overview: for reserved or booked inventory, taken ahead of stock arriving.
Product Availability: not capped to currently available stock, consistent with Prebook/Booking inventory records. See Prebook/Booking Inventory.
Use Cases: gauging and reserving demand ahead of production or receipt, such as pre-season bookings.
All
Overview: a combined catalog type that includes Immediate, Future, and Prebook products together in a single line sheet.
Product Availability: each product still follows the availability rules of its own underlying inventory type (Immediate, Future, or Prebook) — All only changes how the catalog is grouped and labeled, not the per-product rules.
Use Cases: a single, comprehensive catalog for a buyer or rep who should see the full range of ordering options — in-stock, future, and prebook — without needing separate line sheets for each.
