Introduction

Welcome to B2B Plus—documentation for merchants and operations teams using the app inside Shopify Admin.

In this guide:

What is B2B Plus app?

B2B Plus is a Shopify app that adds a full wholesale operations layer on top of Shopify's native B2B feature set. It is built for merchants who sell through both direct customers and a distributed team of sales representatives, and who need visibility into inventory that isn't all sitting on a warehouse shelf ready to ship today.

Where Shopify's native B2B tools focus on company accounts, catalogs, and checkout, B2B Plus focuses on the operational side of running a wholesale channel: who is selling, what is being promised to customers before it's in stock, how purchase orders and suppliers are tracked, and how every change to an order or company is logged for accountability.

The app is managed from its own section in the Shopify admin (visible under Apps → B2B Plus), and includes a consolidated Dashboard plus dedicated sections for:

  • Inventory — stock broken down by Immediate, Future, Prebook, and Warehouse availability
  • Line Sheets — curated, shareable product/price sheets for reps and customers
  • Orders and Draft Orders — full order lifecycle, including orders placed on a customer's behalf
  • Purchase Orders and Suppliers — inbound stock and vendor tracking
  • Sales Reps — rep profiles, customer assignments, and performance metrics
  • Logs — a running activity feed of order, company, and inventory events
  • Settings — app-wide configuration

Difference between native Shopify B2B and B2B Plus app

Since April 2026, Shopify has made a solid foundation of B2B capability — company accounts, up to three catalogs, net payment terms, and quantity rules — available on every paid plan, with Shopify Plus adding unlimited catalogs and a few checkout extras. That native layer is a strong starting point, but it stops at the storefront and checkout: it does not model a sales team, doesn't distinguish stock that's in the warehouse today from stock that's on order, and has no built-in purchase order, supplier, or line-sheet tooling.

B2B Plus is designed to sit on top of that native layer and fill in exactly those gaps. The table below compares the two side by side.

Advanced features unique to B2B Plus

  • Sales Rep management: reps are first-class records in B2B Plus, each assigned to specific customers or companies. Shopify's native B2B has no concept of a sales rep at all — the Dashboard's "Total representative order" and "Total customer order" split has no native equivalent.
  • Order-on-behalf-of workflow: reps can place, review, and manage orders for the customers assigned to them, with every order attributed back to the rep for commission and performance tracking.
  • Line Sheets: shareable, filterable product and price sheets that reps or customers can order directly from — a common wholesale workflow with no native Shopify equivalent.
  • Segmented inventory visibility: stock is split into Immediate (ready to ship), Future (expected but not yet received), Prebook (pre-order against upcoming production), and Warehouse (on-hand but unallocated), giving reps and admins a realistic picture of what can actually be promised to a customer today.
  • Purchase Orders & Suppliers: inbound stock can be tracked against named suppliers and purchase orders, connecting procurement directly to the Future/Prebook inventory shown on the Dashboard.
  • Unified activity log: every order, company, and inventory event (order creation, company switches, webhook updates, inventory reservations, etc.) is captured in a single, searchable Logs view for audit and troubleshooting.
  • Consolidated dashboard: Orders, Inventory, Sales Representatives, and Recent Activity are surfaced together in one view, rather than requiring separate native reports.

Who should use the app daily

Typically warehouse/planning, wholesale operations, customer service handling B2B orders, and sales leadership reviewing rep activity.

FAQs

Does B2B Plus replace Shopify Admin for orders?
No. It extends your workflow inside admin and connects to Shopify orders, draft orders, companies, and inventory concepts your store already uses.
Do I need native Shopify B2B if I use B2B Plus?
In most rollouts, yes—B2B Plus is designed to complement Shopify B2B (companies, catalogs, checkout), not replace it.
Where do buyers place orders?
Usually on your online store or through flows your team configures (for example, sales rep–assisted ordering). Admin users manage data and exceptions in B2B Plus.
